How the tdee calculator works
BMR comes from the Mifflin-St Jeor equation: 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) − 5 × age + 5 (men) or − 161 (women). TDEE is BMR multiplied by an activity factor from 1.2 (sedentary) to 1.9 (extra active). About 500 kcal below TDEE leads to roughly 0.5 kg of loss per week.
